New Worshiping Community-“The Light”

“The Light” worships at 10:15 a.m. every Sunday in Presby Place Recreation Center.

Because we see a desire for quality worship in a more relaxed and spiritual environment, we have initiated a new community of faith which incorporates creative opportunities alongside traditional elements of Christian community, in order to promote a comfortable environment for encountering faith, grace, love and Jesus in our midst.

What do we mean by a New Worshiping Community?

NEW: The possibility for transformation and reconciliation call us to faith. We believe that the Creator of the Universe continues to be at work today in our hearts and minds and has a purpose for us. That purpose is to “love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.” We are always being made new, and we believe that God has the power the renew and transform our relationships and the barriers that separate us from our neighbors and the deepest parts of ourselves.

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5

WORSHIPING: Daily we say thank you, we share our burdens, and give God the glory for the amazing things happening in our lives. We believe God calls us to worship by doing justice, loving mercy and walking humbly with our God. This leads us to acts of community service as well as community worship each Sunday, on the day of Christ’s Resurrection.

COMMUNITY: We are committed to building up community in our body of believers, in the city of Manhattan, Kansas, our nation, and the whole earth and its inhabitants. At our weekly community worship, we have offering stations which give us the opportunity to invest our resources in God’s creative work. We post physical needs and prayers, we invest our finances, we offer clothes and more to those in need, and contemplate where the gaps are in our lives and the circumstances of our neighbors which keep us from having enough in our lives to thrive.
