4th - 6th Youth Fellowship - September 3, 2010
Beginning Friday, September 3 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the 4th thru 6th graders will meet for fun and fellowship in the Youth Room.

Annual Fall Family Picnic - September 19, 2010
The First Presbyterian Church Annual Fall Family Picnic will be held Sunday September 19, 2010. Fun and games will begin at 5:00 PM with supper at 5:30 PM. Please bring a potluck dish to serve 12, along with your own table service. This is always a great get-together for our congregation, friends and family.

Freedom 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk - September 12, 2010
Back by popular demand.. the Freedom 5K Run and Walk will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010, 8:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 801 Leavenworth, Manhattan, KS.

Bring the whole family. Events include 5K Fun Run and Walk, 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk and a 1.5 Mile Youth Timed Run. Cash prizes and door prize drawings for run participants; Kids Fun Zone for kids. TShirts available to first 100 entrants. Preregistration ends September 1, 2010.

Freedom 5K Race Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed on Sunday, September 12th, from 6:30 AM until 10:30 AM. All volunteers will receive a Freedom 5K Race T-shirt. 40 volunteers are needed to serve as race route marshals, finish line assistants, and various other responsibilities. The "Prayers of Jesus" Study"
A four-week study of the life of Jesus. Meeting with others to discuss the transforming power of Jesus Christ. The study is led by Rev. McConnel on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM beginning September 15th thru October 6th, 2010. Please contact us to make your reservation.

The First Presbyterian Church is currently searching for an Associate Pastor to concentrate in the areas of youth, young adult, and family ministries. Recreation

Presby Place is getting almost daily use as the 5 year old recreational center has become the home for church and community activities.

Volleyball church league begins in January and runs until April.

Every Thursday night Presby Place hosts the Manhattan Men's Church Basketball League. This league consists of 7 churches and will wrap up its season in February. It's nice to have the home court advantage every game!

The scoreboard is in memory of Harry Knostman, who was a long-time member of First Presbyterian. Harry served as an elder, deacon, and usher.

Regular programs continue their use of Presby Place, including "Parents' Night Out," J.A.M. on Wednesday night, and open gym on Wednesday nights. In the summer, the building is used for Vacation Bible School and is rented out for many uses. And, of course, there are special events and receptions held throughout the course of the year.

Let us continue to celebrate the addition of such a great building to our church complex.
