Performance Mindset Training

Would you like to be more fulfilled and live life at a higher level? Join us for Performance Mindset training with Jon McGraw. Jon is a former K-State and NFL player who will be talking about his program, VisionPursue. $10 registration will include lunch. Date TBD.

Wednesday Nights on the Blacktop

BYO-Dinner and enjoy it with your family in our Friendship Park starting at 5:30. At 6pm we’ll have a special program each Wednesday night from June through July. Bring your friends and spread the word!

Events featuring “The Church Ladies” musical group, Ron Wilson and his Cowboy Poetry, a Canvas and Coke Painting night, badminton, water games, a movie night, and so much more!

First Sunday Brunches 2016

June 5, July 3, and August 7

Following the 10:30 service, the First Presbyterian congregation, friends, and family are invited to gather in Fisher Hall for a potluck brunch!

Congregation: Please bring a potluck dish to serve 12- meat, vegetable, or salad. Also please bring your own table service. We are trying to go green and reduce the use of plastics, paper products and plates, as well as clean-up.

Membership Committee will provide dessert and beverages.

 

Small Groups

At First Presbyterian Church, we encourage all members and friends to participate in a small group book studies.

Jingle Bell Run
In December, First Presbyterian Church hosts the Jingle Bell Run – a 5k gallop through the streets of downtown Manhattan.  We encourage participants of all ages to get into the holiday spirit with this family-friendly event.  Many even dress up in fun festive attire, with Christmas lights and reindeer antlers, to enjoy the season!

Presby Diners – January, February & March

Open to all, Presby Diners is an annual event sponsored by the Membership, Fellowship and Church Growth committees of First Presbyterian.

-Monthly events are held in January, February and March.  The “host” provides the main dish and drinks.  The “guests” provide appetizer, salad, vegetable, bread or dessert that you and the “host” agree on.  Yes, you may purchase food.

-A typical gathering occurs on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening when approximately 8 to 10 people gather and share a meal and fellowship.  It is a great opportunity to meet new people and renew old friendships.  You will eat with a different group each month and it is open to singles, couples, members and non-members.

Hoop It Up Basketball Clinic: A community wide basketball clinic for kids ages 4-6.  Hoop It Up is held at First Presbyterian Church’s recreation center in February, March, and April. The clinic is a way to familiarize young kids to the game of basketball.  Boys and girls will learn the basics of basketball while having fun!

Mother’s Day Tea: Join us as we treat our mothers to a fancy tea and fashion show! Bring your mom, grandma, aunt, or someone who has been a mother figure to you! Held in May.

Father’s Day Retreat: Fathers and children are invited to a Father’s Day retreat! Invite your father, grandfather, uncle, or a father figure from your life to participate in this retreat with you. Held in June.

Vacation Bible School: Join us for a fun week of VBS! We will have a lot of fun learning about Jesus and the

Ladies Night Out Ladies of all ages enjoyed a fun night of friendship and fellowship with one another!

Men’s and Women’s Retreats

We enjoy inviting guests to speak about faith and the importance their beliefs have played in their lives. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and are given time to discuss the presentation and grow in their own spirituality. The 2015 Women’s Retreat featured Carmen Fowler LaBerge speaking on the topic of “What is it About Bread? What are the Ingredients of the Christian Life?”

Annual Ski Trip

Each year our youth travels to a Ski Resort in Colorado to enjoy the winter fun and take in spectacular views of the mountains.  It is a time to refresh, retreat, and enjoy time with friends during a wonderful time of the year. During last year’s Ski Trip, we went to Ski Cooper in Leadville, CO

Annual Mission Trip

Every summer, the youth take a mission trip to various locations in the country.  Last year’s mission trip was held at the Heifer International Ranch in Arkansas.  Additional information on our annual mission trips may be found on our mission trips page.

Annual Children’s Christmas Program and Deacons’ Dinner

The annual Presby KIDS! Christmas Program is held each December, and portrays a musical celebration of the Christmas season.  The children sing, dance and play instruments!  A potluck Deacon’s Dinner follows the event.

Rummage Sale

On Saturday, April 26, First Presbyterian Church hosted a Rummage Sale.  All proceeds benefited our Deacons’ Missions and Youth Mission Trip.

Walk to Jerusalem

As a way to promote health and wellness throughout the Lenten season, our congregation participated in a “Walk to Jerusalem.” Beginning February 2nd and lasting through Easter Sunday, members of First Presbyterian covered 7,466 miles over 84 days. (That’s 89 miles per day as a congregation!)

Family Ski Trip

First Presbyterian hosted a Family Ski Trip at Ski Snow Creek in Weston, MO! A fun-filled day was had by all!

Young Adult Lunch

Young singles, couples and families joined together at Powercat Grill following our 10:30 AM worship service for a fun and fellowship filled lunch!

“Thanks for Giving” Month

Throughout the month of November, First Presbyterian teamed up with Manhattan area churches, along with our Board of Deacons to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  During this time, church members participated in the Presby KIDS! Backsnack Project, Children’s Clothing Drive, and Winter Warmth Drive.
