The Grove classroom “Seedlings” (Pre-K)

Lower Level CE Wing

This stage is a vital first step in spiritual growth for babies and toddlers. Adults teach babies and toddlers the language of faith. Babies and toddlers will learn the language of faith through songs, Bible stories, talking about God, praying and repeatedly hearing that Jesus loves them. Words of faith include: God, Jesus, Bible, and Pray. For parents who wish to keep their children with them, we have a Cry Room in the balcony of the sanctuary where parents can tend to their child’s needs and still participate in the service.

THE WAY Room “Frogs” (K & 1st)

Upper Level CE Wing

This stage is a huge developmental step in spiritual growth and understanding God’s existence for children ages 4-6 years old. They are able to understand something exists, even if they can’t see it. They are very literal in their thinking at this age. Adults teach children God’s love through actions. Children this age will learn about God’s love through active, hands-on learning such as playing games, singing songs, hand motions for Bible time, and choral responses.

THE TRUTH Room “Owls” (2nd and 3rd)

Upper Level CE Wing

This stage is one of the most fertile times for planting seeds of faith that can be nurtured to bear fruit through an entire lifetime. Younger elementary kids (1st-3rd grade) have a lot of questions about faith, God, and the world we live in. In knowing the truth about God, younger elementary kids flesh out the details of their faith. Adults give children the language to express their faith in ways that accurately reflect what they’re experiencing. Younger elementary kids will participate fully in the worshiping community: praying, singing, attending worship, reading Scripture, inviting friends to church, and sharing their faith.

THE LIFE Room “Trees” (4th-6th)

Upper Level CE Wing

This stage is all about change: physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Another big change is taking their first steps from faith dependence, relying on others to tell them what to believe, to faith ownership. Adults create environments where preteens can discover how their faith affects their life. Other elementary kids will grow their faith in Jesus through experiences, trial and error, small groups, and personal faith interactions that allow them to learn for themselves and grow.

HOW DO I GET TO MY CHILD’S CLASSROOM?

The entrance to all classrooms (Nursery-6th Grade) is the door under the red awning on the South side of the church. Classrooms can also be accessed via the Narthex (upper level) or Fisher Fellowship Hall (lower level)
