“…Whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be a servant of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve…” Mark 10:43-45
There are many ways to serve within the walls of First Presbyterian and outside its walls, including ministries to our own children and youth, ministries of music, ministries of fellowship, ministries to the sick and shut-ins, ministries to disadvantaged children in our community, ministries to the hungry and the homeless, ministries to our international brothers and sisters in Christ.
Serving others is fundamental to our faith and the life anyone who seeks to follow the example of Christ. Putting the needs of other people – our friends, community members, strangers, ANYONE – ahead of our own is one of our highest callings.
Through service to others, we seek to demonstrate Christ’s love to the world by providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs as best we can. We are engaged in a number of ministries at First Pres, but our motivation is always the same: To love as Christ loved by serving as Christ served.
In this section of our website you can find many of the ways which our congregation serves our community, country, and world and puts our faith into action!
We are always looking for new opportunities to serve and friends to help us do it – Where is God calling you to serve?
